October
One of my favorite months of the year would have to be October. I love how the leaves change color, the air is getting colder but not to cold, and of course Halloween. I am not into scary things, but I still love the candy. This weekend was my fall break, so I got to be home and do whatever I wanted to. I absolutely love cooking, so I made a few treats this weekend. First, I started with my mom's delicious taco soup. It is so simple, I just added the ingredients to the Crock-Pot and let it heat up! Then I made fruit salsa with chips. The fruit salsa had mango, strawberries, kiwi, and apples. The chips were just tortillas baked with cinnamon sugar on top! Yum! Then I made Mini Cheese cakes that were delicious! Sadly, I was too late to get any pictures, because we have now eaten most of it. On friday, I made oreo cookies with cream cheese frosting. They did turn out a little doughy, but still really good!
At my school, I am in the National Juniors Honors Society. If you don't know what I am talking about, National Juniors Honors Society, or NJHS, is the students that have had good citizenship ship or good grades get to be in it. To be in the club, you have to have 4 hours of service per quarter of the school year. I was trying to think up some good service and finally thought up service that would be fun. Making quilts for children hospitals. I have just started sewing the 5" by 5" squares into rows. Here's what it looks like so far.

I wanted it to be a mixed matched quilt. So, another bonus, I got to use a lot of my scraps from previous projects!
A week ago, my family was fortunate enough to take a family vacation in Mazatlan, Mexico! It was one of the best trips I have taken. Mazatlan is so beautiful. I was able to take some pictures while I
was there.
It was so incredibly green there!
I thought this milk sign was kind of funny.
When we got to the resorts there were peacocks,
lizards,
flamingos,
frogs, (sadly this little guy didn't make it)
and hairy caterpillars.(my sister-in-law found this little guy in the swimming pool and we decided to save him, except when we would put him on the poolside, he would jump back into the pool!!)
The trip was amazing!
I hope all of you are enjoying October as much as I am!

Cute Crochet Baby Burp Cloth and Freezer Pop Holders
Hey Crafters! So today I am going to show you a way cute, simple, and quite fast project. A few years ago my mom was really into crocheting around baby blankets and started up crocheting again. Well when we were at a really cute craft store I saw this idea of crocheting around burp cloths and blankets with soft yarn and decided to try it. I was really pleased with how it turned out.
I suggest if any of you crafters need a summer activity to make a crocheted baby blanket or burp cloth. While I was looking at my favorite blogs today, I came across Freezer Pop Holders and thought it was a brilliant idea.

Pretty cool! I always feel that my hand gets so cold when I eat a freezer pop! I saw this first on iammommahearmeroar
but she found it at Under the Table and Dreaming
Thanks for Reading!

Books #2
Hi crafters! I know that I haven't blogged for a while, but I have been crazily reading. I have actually finished 3 books!(Unfortunately they were all not from the huge pile of books) I finished the book, "The Clockwork Three" by: Matthew J. Kirby and it was amazing. I really loved how all three of the kids have had rough lives but come together to help each other. You can go to Matthew J.Kirby's website click HERE Another book I read is "Beastly" by: Alex Flinn. I really liked this book because it was a fractured fairytale. It is a great teen romance without all of the sappy stuff. This book was chosen at my book club and I was really glad to read it. You can visit Alex Flinn's website by clicking HERE. The last book I read was called, "The 13th Reality: The Journal of Curious Letters" by: James Dashner. This book is over 400 pages and I read in about a week and a half! It was so great. I really enjoyed the fantasy and adventure in this book. You can also visit James Dashner's website by clicking HERE. I also found his other awesome website so go check it out just click HERE. I highly recommend all of these books! All three were way interesting! Keep crafting and reading!

Today I have a confession to make. I am obsessed with books! I am a huge reader, but don't have very much time to read. I am a huge book collector! A little pathetic, right?
To finish reading all of them, I am going to make a goal to finish the books by the summer of 2012! To get my self motivated I am going to start using this blog as a book blog! I kind of got the idea from this cute blog I love. She posts awesome things so go check it out, just click HERE! If you just want to see the section of posts on books click HERE! Her blog is way cute and inspires me to read! I thought that this would be a fun way to include all of you readers to get involved in this blog! The first book we are going to read is called, " The Clockwork Three" I already started reading it and it is awesome(the blog I linked to has a post on this book!) Here is what the cover looks like.

Feathers and Flowers
Hey Crafters! It has been way too long since I have posted. In December, our family went to New York for a family vacation. While I was there I went to the M&J Trimmings store. It is a really fun store and website, so go check it out! Here are a few things that I made.
They already came as the zipper flower so I glued them to alligator clips on the back of the flower to put in my hair.(I got mine at Hobby Lobby) I also got feather patches and glued them on headbands. You can get headbands at Hobby Lobby or even your grocery store. Here are a few that I made.
This next headband was made with feather ribbon.
This next flower I got the idea from I am Momma Hear Me Roar. Then she got the tutorial from Trey and Lucy's blog. Check out theirs! It was really fun to make. I made it with a great friend and had a fun time!
Here is another cute flower that was way fun! It requires no sewing, only hot glue! Make sure to not burn your fingers, because I sure did! I also got this idea from I Am Momma Hear Me Roar.
She got the pattern from Vanessa at V and Co. This is how mine turned out!
Sorry my pictures aren't very well! I hope all of you crafters are enjoying my blog! Do any of you have any suggestions? Please leave your comments. Keep Crafting!
